In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

When I was creating my music magazine I looked at a few other music magazines and noticed that when you have a masthead they are normally on the top of the front cover and is always behind the central images head. So I used this to try and draw the attention to the central image as he was the main attraction for my magazine. As well as this the front cover focused on the genre which don’t have a lot of cover lines on them as this is a way to encourage people that don’t read much to buy and look at the magazine. So this is what I done with my magazine as it means I can draw more customers. With the contents page I found out that it is best to try and stick to the normal conventions with the contents on the right and the pictures on the left. As well as this the link between the contents page and the front cover was the title as it was the same format and as the same colour. With the DPS I saw that they have picture on the left with the article on the right. I did this as it was relating to my research so I could make it look like a professional magazine and may draw more customers in.

With my Magazine i have included page numbers in my magazine this is because they needed to be included. But the font i used on the page numbers was to show connotation thought the magazine as well as this it gave me a chance to show all of the information that was on the front cover. this included the date and the name of the magazine.

Will all my pages in my magazine i have shown connotation with the masthead and title as they are all the same fonts. As well as this believe that i have followed the standard type of font as mine is all spiky and looks like a rock font.

My house style a generic rock style with the conventional red,white and black. As well as this is because i wanted to not challenge the normal house style this is because I wanted people to see what genre it was from.

My magazine may not include many cover lines this is because the research i completed i didn't see many cover lines on there front covers so i followed the trend as i thought this would draw more people in to the magazine. This is because i believed that my target audience might not want a lot of information on the front cover.

My writing style was an informal style as this was the best way to get across to my target audience this is because a lot of them will be teenagers. And they will understand all of the language that is used if i use slang. So again i didn't challenge the standard language but used it to try and draw more people in to my magazine.
