1. In what ways dose your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
When i was creating my magazine i had researched two magazines before and saw that they had local events that are going on their area. So when i created my magazine i made sure to include a event for the students which was the Halloween masquerade. They also had the mastheads on the top of the page as this is easily to recognise the magazine. So i done this to my magazine to make sure if it was ever in a shop it would be easy to see on the shelf.
2.How does your media product represent different social groups?
My front cover was a photo of a Ludlow College student doing a funny face. This was because i wanted to try and show that student life could be fun and not always work. I have done this though the use of the photo and the language i used on the front cover. Also there is not much going on behind the student so this could also connote that the college is a relaxed environment.
3.What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?
As you can see from my magazine cover it talks a lot about college life an a lot about the aspects of college life. This would mean that it may be distributed and made within college as the price from the focus group was seen to be between 50Pand£1.
4.Who would be the audience for your media product?
My magazine is aimed at students from Ludlow college as it is mainly about college life. As well as this students coming up to college could read it and see if it is for them. So the age range wold be (16-19). The magazine is aimed at both genders as i wanted it to apply to as many students as possible.
5.How did you attract/address your
audience?
When i carried out my focus group people told me what they wanted in the magazine so i included those topics to attract the student audience. As well as this my house style was calm and relaxed as it was red/orange and white which could also show a hint of professionalism this was good as it connoted it was a good magazine. As well as this i spoke to the audience with the use of 'your'.
6. What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?
When desigining my front cover and contents page i used Adobe In Design, which i had never used before.. I found that this as quite easy to use and was quite simple to get used to. The hardest bit i found was trying to get the photos to fit the page on In Design. I also learned how to use blogger, which again I had never used before. This was quite simple to use.
